March 31, 2006, Newsletter Issue #29: Dark Colored Fabrics

Tip of the Week

Stitching a pattern on dark colored fabric such as navy blue or black can add a striking dimension to a piece. It can be, however, very difficult on the eyes to work with dark fabrics. Try stitching under a good light source with a piece of white paper behind your stitching. You should be able to see the holes in the dark fabric better against the contrasting white.
